How to make Carne Asada

To make this tasty Mexican filling, you need to spend only 5 minutes and then one hour for the marinating. For the complete instructions, read the recipe written below.

Ingredients:

  • 450 gr round tip steak, cut into thin slices (you may use flank or skirt steak)
  • 50 ml olive oil
  • A lime, juiced
  • An orange, juiced
  • A clove of  garlic, chopped
  • A half teaspoon of cumin
  • A quarter teaspoon of salt
  • A quarter teaspoon of ground pepper
  • Chopped cilantro

Directions:

  1. The first thing to do to make this homemade Carne Asada is by preparing a ziplock gallon bag.
  2. Here, make sure you choose the large size one. Then, put all of the ingredients in it (except the steak), like olive oil, lime and orange juice, garlic, cumin, salt, ground pepper and chopped cilantro.
  3. Then, mix those ingredients well until they are completely combined.
  4. After that, you may lock the bag and place the bag of the mixture into the refrigerator. It is the process of marinating. For the best marinating, you may need to let it refrigerated for around 1 or 2 hours.
  5. Next, while waiting for the marinating, you may continue to make for the following ingredients.
  6. Here, you need to grill the steak. Make sure you have prepared the grill stuff and cook the meat until it is thoroughly cooked. Besides, you can also grill the steak from a pan.
  7. To grill the steak in a pan, you need to heat the pan over medium or high heat. Then, grill the steak strips for around 1 or 2 minutes for each side. Turn the meat and grill for the other side. When all part of the meat is completely cooked, you may let the meat rest for around 10 minutes.
  8. After 10 minutes, you may cut the meat against its grain. Then, start to assemble the filling for the Carne Asada sandwich.
  9. Take a layer of flatbread and fill with Carne Asada along with other complement ingredients, like chopped tomatoes, sour cream, cilantro and lime juice.
